A Clean Canvas

Today’s post I decided to dedicate little more to a beauty rather than fashion. To be exact, skin care. I do not want to pretend to be an expert in this field at all, but I think it is very important to talk about it. Especially since the summer is here and we are more exposed to the sun then the rest of the year. Now, I absolutely love a tan. The minute the sun is out in the spring, I am like a lizard. I am out walking, tanning, chilling on a patio, and so on. Having a tan makes you look healthier, clothes and all colours seem to fit you better, you look more toned. The list goes on and on. However we all have to remember to take care of the skin in the summer months too. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Maybe try to avoid tanning your face a lot, as your face is exposed to the sun all day long anyway. It is affected by the elements all year long and suffers the most abuse. My skin therapist told me that best solution for wrinkles is prevention. Maybe I am thinking about this more than usual because I am approaching very quickly my 30th birthday. It’s tomorrow (Yikes!!!). Or maybe I just got smart with age J. But either way I urge all of you to take care of your skin too. A beautiful, clean, healthy looking canvas is the best way to show off your stylish outfit. I get a lot of compliments on my skin and people always ask me what I do. Part of it is genetics but a lot of it is what you do and eat. Choose a product that won’t take up a lot of your time. Keep your routine simple. I wash my face with a face wash and apply an eye cream (I started this when I turned 29. Wonder why?). I finish off with a good moisturizer. That is it! In the winter, because I have extremely dry and thin skin, I also use a moisturizing gel before the moisturizer. If you want, you can use a lighter weight cream in the hot months and a heavier one in the winter, but to save yourself some money and confusion, you can use your same winter moisturizer but just apply less to the face. Never forget your neck!  I use a face wash which removes mascara too. It saves you time and money. One of the reasons most of us skip to wash our face at night, especially after a late night, is because it takes too long. I used to be the same. I have streamlined my routine now and I am now proud to say that I respect the routine 99% of the time. And it only takes minutes. Once a week I exfoliate. If you have more oily skin you should probably exfoliate twice weekly. Try it for couple of weeks and you will see the results. Guaranteed!
Another great way to improve your skin is to juice. Make your own vegetable (and some fruit) juice at home. Get some nutrients in your body too. Oh, and one more thing: Water! Most of the time it is more important what you put in your body rather then on your skin. You can be spending hundreds of dollars on skin care but if you are not taking in water and nourishment, you are just wasting your money. But make sure that you buy products of good quality and that are right for your skin. If you have dryer skin, avoid the toner at all times. My skin therapist, who is a woman in her late 50s but has a really healthy beautiful skin, said to me once that maybe it’s better to skip one week or one month buying one more pair of shoes, but invest in quality skin care products. When you age, no amount of money spent on clothes can cover up bad skin.
Below are products that I use in the summer. I highly recommend this scrub to every skin type. The face wash as well. The face wash however needs to be cleaned away with a moist towel as it is very creamy. The cream is good for dry skin in the summer but good for oilier skin in colder months. It may be too heavy for the summer.
Now, how does all of this relate to fashion you ask? I always say that your best accessory is your skin. So take care of it! Thank you for your comments. Ciao!

The Very First Outfit Post

I took a few outfit pictures over the last few days, as I was running around my day and I wasn’t sure what would be the first one to post. I debated and as the days went by and weather changed (it seems every day it was a different season), I decided to go with the very first one I shot. This one I actually took last month at the High Park.   It was the last few days when you could see the cherry tree blossom so I did not want to miss out on it. I love spring only for this reason, trees and flowers blossoming. And the fact that it is a sign that the summer is just around the corner (I am still waiting for this corner though), but it is a sign.      A little nervous giggle              Sweater Costa Blanca, white tee H&M, rings, earrings, necklaces and leggings Forever 21, watch Michael Kors, bag Louis Vuitton, sneakers Urban Planet, sunglasses Ray Ban   This is a very casual outfit and very odd for me in the sense that

Sightseeing Montreal In Hot Pink Sneakers & Ripped Jeans

Jeans & jacket Zara, sneakers Nike, shirt H&M, bag Steve Madden, sunglasses unknown, belt Danier (men's section), chain ring Forever 21, midi ring H&M, forefinger gold rings gifts    Day one in Montreal was the cocktail party and then walking the streets of old Montreal at night and testing out different patios and bars. Day two in Montreal, was again walking the beautiful streets of old Montreal and testing out patios, but now in daylight, hehehe. Oh and lets not forget, blog picture taking. I forget how beautiful this city is and am reminded every time I come back. Then, I wonder why I don't come back more often. It is gorgeous, vibrant and people are extremely warm. It has such a European flare, which I often miss, and this is a quick way for me to get that fix once in a while, without having to fly over an ocean. These pictures were snapped around St Denis street as well as around Catherdral Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal. I was comfortable in my new N

Are You Blushing Yet?

Heels Pour La Victoire (Winners), skinnies Nasty Gal (similar here and here ), top H&M, coat Le Chateau (old), bag H&S Handbags , rings Forever 21, watch unknown, sunglasses Ray Ban   Quite the opposite of yesterdays leather look, we are moving on today to a soft blush pink. Pink is very big this season and in particular blush or pastel pink. My first reaction was rather negative to this trend until I realized how many items I have in my wardrobe that are of that colour. So today, even my accessories are blush pink. To break it up a bit I kept the handbag and the pants winter white. What do you think? Thank you for your comments! Ciao! Danas idemo u kompletno suprotnom smeru od jucerasnjeg koznog sorca. Danas govorimo o bebi roze boji.

Have You Visited Positano & Amalfi Coast Yet?

Pants Zara, jacket Zara, sneakers Forever21, bag unknown (Winners), dress unknown ( similar ), ankle boots PrettyLittleThings There are still quite a few more outfits and cities I’ll be featuring on the blog from my last year’s trip to Italy, however today I’m sharing this post from the last location we visited: beautiful Positano. As we visited Italy in the fall, outfits left to share are more fall appropriate, so I will share them come September. I’ll be dealing with two little babies then so God knows how much time I will have to shoot new outfits. As I’m laying on my couch bored out of my mind counting down the days to my delivery next week (whooohoooo!!!) I’m experiencing such FOMO. Partially because I won’t be going on vacation this summer (though becoming a mom to two little girls is quite awesome!!) and partially because I’m reminiscing of my travels last year. Positano seems to still be one of the most photographed summer destinations so I’m sharing a few pictures f
